And When Thanksgiving is Said and Done:

And Then Comes BLACK Friday.

This is a challenging time of the year for mental health. Discussions of suicides increasing during the holidays along with loss and depression only add to our community's mental illness at the end of the year.

As the year comes to an end, it behooves us to identify holiday triggers.  John Grohol, PsyD., gives a vast resource in Coping with Thanksgiving and holiday stressors.  So, starting Monday get your address book and Christmas cards and stamps and start your holiday cards.  Moreover, review Grohol's article to see how to manage your holidays effectively.  This also applies to identifying and recognizing coping strategies for loved ones, family, friends, partners, neighbors, widowers/widows and the elderly.  As a therapist in Los Angeles, Beverly Hills and San Fernando Valley managing the holiday blues is a significant part of you well being.
